Dr. Lim has been focusing on the assessment and mitigation of dust, odor and gas emissions of agriculture facilities, and monitoring and performance of ventilation system.  Dr. Lim is experienced in utilizing state-of-the-art olfactometry, gas chromatography, continuous gas (NH3, H2S, VOCs and GHG) and particulate matter (EPA Method 17, TEOM, and gravimetric) analyzers, and meteorological and other instruments.  He developed a web-based, interactive setback guideline for pork production facilities, and is developing emission models for commercial swine barns based on part of the National Air Emission Monitoring Study dataset.  Dr. Lim has scientifically quantified air emissions from modern agricultural structures based on EPA-approved quality assurance project plans.  He has also characterized the effectiveness and practicality of several mitigation methodologies applied by the livestock industries.
