Ruqian Zhao


Dr. Ruqian Zhao is a professor in Animal Physiology and Biochemistry at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Nanjing Agricultural University and the Director of the Key Laboratory of Animal Physiology & Biochemistry, Ministry of Agriculture, China. She was offered a two-year visiting professorship at Cornell University and worked there from 2007-2009. Dr. Zhao had 3 years working experience in Germany, 2 years in USA and 1 year in Australia. Dr. Zhao’s research interest is Neuroendocrine Regulation of Growth, Metabolism and Meat Quality in Domestic Animals. She is PI of national, international and provincial key research programs and appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, China as the Chief Scientisit for Sino-German cooperations in agricultural research. Dr. Zhao and her group have published over 80 papers in SCI journals and over 150 papers in Chinese journals. She is a peer-reviewer for many international journals and serves in the editorial board for General and Comparative Endocrinology. She is a council member of the Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences (CAPS), and the President of Chinese Association for Animal Physiology and Biochemistry. She is also a member of the National Expert Committee for Animal Feed and Feed additives in China.
