2011 International Symposium on Health Environment and Animal Welfare Held in Rongchang, Chongqing

The 2011 International Symposium on Health Environment and Animal Welfare was held in Rongchang, Chongqing from Oct. 18-21, 2011.


There were more than 130 experts from China, USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Australia attending this meeting, among which, 23 foreigners were from CIGR, America Egg Industry Center, University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign (UIUC), USA, Iowa State University, USA, Pennsylvania State University, USA, Purde University, USA, University of Missouri, USA, Cancer Research UK, Cambridge Research Institute, Wageningen University, the Netherlands, South Queensland University, Australia, University of Manitoba, Canada, Compassion in World Farming. The domestic guests were from CAAS, Southwestern University, county and district animal husbandry station and et al.. The contents were relative to the current assessments and systems on animal welfare, the index value of healthy raising, the system characteristic of healthy raising, the behavior under welfare raising system, the control technology of physiology health and performance and et al.. Within the meeting, the guests were arranged to visit the national modern animal husbandry demonstration core area, including: the Standardized Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, Prompt Detecting Center of Animal Disease, Rongchang Breed Pig Farm, China Animal Product Trade Market, Pig Culture Square and National Modern Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Demonstration Garden. During the field trip, the participants acquired the current status of Chongqing animal industry and exchanged views with local peers.
